Alto Vineyards, the Cosmic Crossroads
Where you can engage in the full experience of the total solar eclipse.
April 5-8, 2024
We invite you to Alto Vineyards in Alto Pass, Illinois to take in the 2024 eclipse at our picturesque five-acre grounds that overlooks the beautiful Shawnee Hills. As the crossover point between the total solar eclipse of 2017 and 2024, Alto Pass is a picture-perfect destination to fully experience this once in a life-time cosmic event. We offer unique outdoor spaces that include an extensive well-manicured ground, acres of vineyards, and open pavilion, pergola and gazebo. Starting on Friday, April 5th and culminating at 8:00 on Monday April 8th, Alto Vineyards will feature an exciting array of activities that include entertainment, food, education and local artisans and artists. All events are free of charge until the day of the eclipse when we will offer two options described below. For the complete list of activities throughout the weekend, follow us on social media. 1. General admission -$20 admission fee per car (parking passes). You may bring lawn chairs to position in the yard or claim table space outside. Entertainment will be provided by Sones de Mexico Ensemble, Chicago’s premier Mexican folk music group. The schedule is as follows:
10:30 AM Sones de Mexico Ensemble - Danza del Sol (Azteca Dance Workshop) on the lawn
12-1:30 PM Sones de Mexico Ensemble - 30th Anniversary Concert at the outside music stage
1:30-2:30: Eclipse
2:30-3 PM Cobden ESL dance team - Ballet Folklorico presentation at the patio
3-4 PM Beyond the Music Foodways Edition: A Musical and Culinary Geography of Mexico at the patio.
The concert will be broadcast live via Facebook and YouTube and is supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Illinois Arts Council Arts Tour program.
Following the eclipse Leight July, a local favorite will play from 4:00-7:00 pm.
We will have a “Kids Corner’ for the young ones to engage in educational activities related to the eclipse. Food and merchandise will be available to purchase. To purchase general admission parking passes click the button below.
2. VIP Admission -$200 each, $300 per couple, $50 for children 11 and under. SOLD OUT
With the most spectacular view of the eclipse in Alto Pass from our vine deck, this exclusive ticket will include free parking, food, a bottle of our limited edition of VIP eclipse wine, and merchandise (tote, t-shirt, and eclipse glasses and more). Refreshments including charcuterie boards and appetizers will be served throughout the day and a dedicated server will attend to your needs. A hot meal will be served and a glass of wine of your choice. We will have educational materials on tables for the children. Entertainment in the tasting room will be available throughout the day and additional drinks will be available for purchase. Tickets are limited so reserve yours now.
